Our mission is to help Iowa grow by helping your community grow.

Purpose of the Grow Iowa Tour

In preparation for the IBF Mid-Decade Assessment of the Imagine Iowa 2010 Vision Plan, the IBF and Iowa Growth Partners have chosen a select group of Iowa communities for their 2006 Grow Iowa Tour.

Between May and October, the IBF plans to visit 30 Iowa communities, large and small, in order to:

• Listen to the concerns of community and business leaders in relation to growing Iowa’s population and economy.
  
  
• Create awareness of the Imagine Iowa 2010 goals and facilitate the completion of the 2010 Mid-Decade Assessment.
  
  
• Collect survey data, anecdotal evidence, “best practice” examples, seek out statewide or regional trends and visually catalog the progress of Iowa communities.
  
  
• Share best practices and good ideas between Iowa communities.
  
  
• Report the findings of our visit to local leaders and to compile the research for presentation at the December IBF Legislative Summit and other state meetings such as the Supplements IBF Higher Education Conference, the October YP Iowa Summit, the Iowa Jaycees Annual Convention and AIA’s Cool Communities Conference, among others.
